Dear Wally:
Confirming our telephone conversation earlier today, Hazleton will amend the smoking policy at its Madison facility to be consistent with the practices in effect at other Hazleton locations. Namely, those of our Hazleton Wisconsin employees who wish to smoke will be able to do so, both in specified locations within the building and outside the building but on the site.
As you know, we created a smoking area inside the building several months ago for clients who choose to smoke.
We have approached these changes in the context of the broad business relationship which exists between RJR/Nabisco and Hazleton, not simply those portions of it which are unique to Madison. We hope this is seen as constructive and as a commitment on our part to see all aspects of the relationship flourish.
Thanks again for your help in addressing these matters. I look forward to seeing you again soon.
Best regards,
Sincerely,
William C. Neely
Vice President
