Intro: Pavements, beaches and park connectors should become cigarette-free zones if the ban is extended, say non-smokers.
But smokers fear lengthening the list of places where they are barred from lighting up would leave them with little room to take a smoke break.
Earlier this week, the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources said it was considering extending the ban, which now covers most indoor areas, to reduce the impact of second-hand smoke.

Intro: Drivers caught smoking at the wheel of a vehicle in the tiny landlocked republic of San Marino now risk a minimum fine of 100 euros (157 U.S. dollars), the Italian News Agency ANSA said on Wednesday.
The republic's new road code, which went into effect on Tuesday, also calls for fines ranging from 100 euros to 250 euros (392 dollars) for illegal parking, driving without seatbelts and using earphones. . . .
