Batesville High School Student Council members Jim Turchyn, Alicia Siefert and John Moton, all seniors, scored a victory Monday, April 18, when the proposal they made to the trustees at the March 29 Batesville Community School Corp. meeting regarding a 24-hour smoking ban on school property was passed unanimously.
Superintendent Dr. James Freeland said that research had been done on schools with existing policies and the draft had gone through several revisions before it was reviewed and approved by Doug Wilson, corporation attorney.
