Intro:

The House of Tobacco, 4511 Greenwood Court, Algonquin, is providing a place for people to smoke.

As of Jan. 2, owners Kenny and Arvind Patel (no relation) expect to have reinstalled a smoking area in the Algonquin store.

The men purchased the shop five years ago and put in a smoking area in 2005. They removed the area in early 2007 because the ventilation system also removed heated or cooled air. They opened a second shop in Lakemoor that has a smoking lounge and referred customers there. The ventilation system in Algonquin is expected to cost $1,500 to $2,000, Kenny explained.
